the most important thing is the servicebook.
If it is complete, the car is ok.
Mostly they turn back the km, and you don´t know what the car has runned.
So you have to look at the servicbook.If there is no book, don´t buy the car !!
This car at your link has an normaly price,but you have to ask how much persons have owned the car.
That´s what I can say,hope it´s ok for you.

Unfortunately I'm not a specialist and what I was thinking was that when I go there to see the car up close to ask them to take it to a BMW service center to have it checked out.
Is this something that is generally done in Germany?

Do you guys believe that 130.000km is a lot for a 840?
I understand that it is a BMW and 130.000 is like getting a new car.
But we are not talking about a 3-series where a normal user would drive the car but a car driven/bought only by fanatics of fast driving.

It's nice to see that there are so many web pages dedicated to the 8-series.

I'm looking to buy a 840. I live in Greece so I want to get the car over here.
There are hardly any E31s here. In some page I have read that they have been sold only 9!

Anyway back to my issue. I want to get the 840.
People tell me that I shouldn't go for a 10 year old car because the technology is too old and crap like that. On the other side I believe that it is very beautiful (the new cars are way too "rounded") and it has become a classic.
I have looked on mobile.de and found some.

My questions:
1. For insurance reasons (although I haven't checked the rates) I'm looking for the 4.0L and not the newer 4.4L. Performance-wise I have seen that the 4.4 has the same performance as the 4.0L. What are the advantages of the 4.4 compared to the 4.0? Is it worth paying €5.000 or €6.000 more to get the 4.4?

2. Since I don't know german and I have tried to get some translation out of systran but didn't help too much.
Can somebody please tell me if this is a good deal? Of course I'm looking for a car in a good condition non-crashed!

3. What should I look out for when I go to buy the car. I will take it to a BMW-service to have it checked out of course but what would you say is needed to be checked as a first look?
